Happy Anniversary, Mine!

Dear Mine,

Una sa lahat… SORRY. —December 6 pa anniversary natin pero ngayon ko lang natapos itong letter. Hindi dahil hindi kita mahal, ha! Kung may “Procrastination Hall of Fame,” baka may picture ko doon. Pero seryoso, mahal, pasensya na. Alam mo naman ako—pag gusto kong gawing special, minsan super tagal bago matapos… pero ang importante, buong puso. Slow but sure… at overly dramatic pa minsan.

Pero enough about my late timing. Gusto kong mag-focus sa’yo—sa atin—sa pamilya natin. Mine, every year na dumadaan, mas lalo akong humahanga sa’yo. Hindi lang dahil sobrang ganda mo (which, by the way, unfair kasi kahit gulo-gulo buhok mo sa umaga, ang cute mo pa rin), kundi dahil sa lakas, grace, at wisdom na meron ka.

You are truly a living, breathing example ng isang modern Proverbs 31 woman.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
At gusto kong idagdag: “And she survives two hyper kids and one malikot na asawa with style and beauty.”

Mine, I see you.
I see the way you wake up early para kay Athalia at Yohan, kahit minsan kulang sa tulog.
I see how you guide them, teach them, comfort them, and love them in a way that only a super mom can.
I see how you put our family first—always—kahit pagod ka, kahit stressed ka, kahit pakiramdam mo minsan wala ka nang energy.

I see the small things you think I don't notice—yung pagpili mo ng favorite snacks nila, pagsusuklay ng buhok ni Athalia kahit nagwawala na, and pag-chase kay Yohan kahit tumatakbo parang rocket. Yung pag-aayos mo ng bahay kahit may dalawang mini-tornado na dumadaan every hour.

And yes, I see how you love me despite all my kulit, my delays, my kalat, and my kakulitan sa buhay. Swerte ko, grabe. Hindi ako makapaniwala minsan na ikaw talaga yung nakatadhana para sa’kin.

Mine, you are beautiful—inside and out.
You are strong.
You are kind.
You are wise.
You are funny.
You are soft in all the right places and fierce in all the right ways.
You are the heart of our home, the soul of our family, and the reason kung bakit mas gusto kong mag-improve, maging better, at magmahal nang mas totoo araw-araw.

Every laugh natin, every tampuhan, every hug, every chaotic moment with our kids—lahat ‘yan treasure ko. Wala akong ibang gusto kundi mas marami pa n’yon… with you.
